the DOWNSIDE of SNOW

I guess the snow was just a little too heavy ... the poles buckled and caved in. Unfortunately, we parked the suburban beside the shed and it got a good ding. The poles were so twisted we had a hard time taking it all apart. Courtney and Tiffany helped us get it all cleaned up ... thanks girls!

the UPSIDE of SNOW

The snow storm that hit our area dropped so much snow, the boys could hardly wait to go out and play in it. I love the snow on the trees, it looks so pretty!

Quilts!

I took my first quilting class in July 2007 and it was a "Mystery Class". The Christmas quilt is from this class. I just finished the Fall quilt this week ... why I've only made seasonal quilts, I'm not sure, but it's still exciting to see the finished product. I think I'm hooked!

Sam's 6th Birthday!

Sam turned 6 on January 14th and got breakfast in bed ... crepes! He had a party with a couple of his friends; Bailey and Ayden. We pulled out all of our games that the kids rarely play ... bowling, chicken limbo, beans bags. They had lots of fun!

Jump Rope For Heart

Kai wants to thank everyone who donated to the American Heart Association for his Jump Rope for Heart Event. Kai jumped for 100 minutes!

49 Degrees North

We went skiing at 49 Degrees North tonight. Great skiing! We were so proud of Sam ... he skied all night without his "Racer Chaser" on. He can officially ski alone! Yay ... Chris and I weren't sure how much longer our legs could handle snow plowing behind him all night. The girls skied most of the night with some friends from school. Courtney snowboards and Tiffany skis, but next week they are going to swap and Courtney is going to try skiing and Tiffany is going to try snowboarding (both for the first time) ... should be interesting!

Schweitzer Mountain

We headed up to Schweitzer for some night skiing last night ... it was absolutely beautiful ... 30 degrees with light snow. We had a great time! Next week I think Sam will be ready to ski down by himself. His last run last night, he only held onto my pole and was controlling his skis really well. Kai is ready to go to the top of the mountain, so Courtney might have herself a ski partner. They can be "kamicrazy" together.

Good Citizenship Award

Kai earned a Good Citizenship Award at school this week. His friend, Christopher earn one as well, they were so excited and felt pretty special. Good job, Kai!

"Rock Band" Fanatics!

The kids got Rock Band for Christmas and the girls have become total fanatics. They practice all the time and have started their own band with friends and are touring Europe (on the game of course). They can earn money and fans depending on how well they play and sing ... they spend all their money on their concert wardrobe.

The Ice Cream Ball

We got an ice cream ball for Christmas the kids were dying to try it. We put everything inside the ball and rolled it around for 20 minutes ... it was delicious and the boys had fun wrestling for the ball.

Huge Icicles!

There were 7 foot icicles hanging from the back of Chris' office, so he brought some of them home for the kids to see. They thought they were pretty cool!
