Gardner Caves

I went with Kai's third grade class to the Gardner Caves just past Metaline Falls. We went for a hike and ate a picnic lunch right on the Canadian/US border and then hiked down underground into the caves ... about 500 feet. It was really neat ... the temperature in the caves stays 39 degrees (F) all year round.

Honors Society Induction

Courtney was inducted into the Honors Society ... she had to write 3 essays on different leadership qualities and was chosen by the board along with 7 other students. Great job, Court!

Our Anniversary

Chris took the boys for a bike ride on the Wolf Trails and found this rock ... he gave it to me for our anniversary. Sweet rock!

Pokemon Battle

Kai and Sam are so glad Hayden is staying with us for awhile ... Pokemon Battles are way more fun with 3 people.

Celebrating at Sonic!

We celebrated Kai's victory at SONIC ... yummy!

Martial Arts Tournament

Kai took SECOND place in the Inland Empire Martial Arts Tournament in Spokane yesterday. He competed against 7 other eight year olds. He did an amazing job ... I tried to get some action shots, but Sam was on my lap and I was having a hard time getting a steady shot.

Silent Auction

We went to a silent auction at Stratton on Thursday ... they were auctioning kids art work from CREATE Place. We bid on a few of the pieces, but we only won 2. This kids went to the book fair after and then we watched a dance and drumming demonstration in the gym. It was interesting!

Guild Auditions

Kai auditioned for the Guild again this year, he was pretty nervous ... he found this piano tucked away in a little room and practiced his pieces until it was his turn to audition. He was glad when it was over.

Needing some TLC

Chris works in Metaline Falls on Wednesdays and keeps his appointment book at the house ... he was heading up to work yesterday and checked his appointments when he noticed Sam had scheduled himself in for an adjustment. Sam must have needed some TLC!

Sam's Riding a Two-wheeler

When Sam was 4 years old he decided that he didn't want to ride a two-wheeler until he was 7. For the last 2 1/2 years we have tried to convince him to take his training wheels off ... finally this week he gave in. He was padded up and went for it ... after many falls he finally got it! Yay, Sam!!

Paint Ball War

Courtney suited up and went paint balling in the woods with some of her friends from school - all guys of course ... the other girls didn't want anything to do with it.

Phoenix, Arizona - PART 4

My sisters, Becky and Kathy, flew out for the second half of the week. We laughed, ate chocolate, laughed, sun-tanned, and laughed some more. We realized on the last day that we hadn't taken any pictures, so we set the camera on timer and started our photo shoot ... we tried to get at least one good picture ... after about 15 shots, we figured one of them would suffice. Thanks for the laughs, girls!!

Phoenix, Arizona - PART 3

Some scenery shots!

Phoenix, Arizona - PART 2

We just relaxed and sat by the pool, played a little tennis and had fun trying to set the camera up to take pictures of both of us together ... not the best pictures, but good enough.

Phoenix, Arizona - PART 1

Chris and I spent a few days in Phoenix last week ... the weather was in the 90's, but it felt great considering the weather we've had at home for the past 6 months.
